Re: July Sunsets

Very good work Roger congratulations.
I suppose the tower 15 meters is at the right side at photo .
Very difficult to pick-up the tube about 15 meters high to suppose you have some derrick machine ? and is over the ground at base ? or over to house ?
I have 8 meters tower with tube and we are 3 persons to pick up

Re: July Sunsets

Hi Dimitris
I raise the tower on my own with a small hand winch(I have now purchased an electric winch for more control )

This photo shows the way it is done I don,t use a truck, The winch is mounted on the base of the tower with a cable running out to a pulley at tower guy anchor point at the gin pole end.

I made a mistake with 8m tower it only has 3 guy anchor points so i can,t use the same method(the tower slews sideways because the guy,s are not at 90deg,s to each other)

Roger

ps you need steady nerves it looks quite frightening and a very calm day

just added 2 photos to show set up
