Cooling degree days

Hello

Can anyone please help, I am trying to find current and historical cooling degree day data for the midlands region for a college project.
I can find average and current daily figures but i need to able to compare monthly this year to last year.
Does anyone know of anywhere where this information is available free (the Met office prices are way out of my league for this).

Thanks, Bobson

Hi Bobson,

I'm not sure off the top of my head, I'll have a look round for you. Anyone else have any ideas?

Re: Cooling degree days

The UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP) http://www.ukcip.org.uk/ have a database, might be worth a look.

Re: Cooling degree days

You probably finished with your college project some time ago, but this might help someone else.

My company recently launched a free site for generating degree days. It generates the degree days using temperature data from Weather Underground's database of weather stations, so there are quite a lot of UK stations available, including several in the Midlands. To find a weather station, try searching for the names of nearby cities until you turn up something useful.
