Media thread: Cornwall suffers flash floods

22 OCt 2006

Heavy rain has caused some flash flooding in parts of Cornwall.

Areas which were affected included the A30 west of the Chiverton roundabout, Wherrytown in Penzance and the centre of Perranporth.
Flood watches are in force along much of the coast. On the south they are from Land's End to Plymouth, and Land's End to Hartland Point on the north. There is also a warning of heavy rain moving across Cornwall during Sunday afternoon and evening.
