What sort of weather do you think we will experience during December?

Well Zippy, a fair few members have viewed your question, but no-one looks as though they are prepared to stick their neck out. This could be a good idea for a regular slot - take a look at the models and predictions for the coming weeks and give it your best shot. Ideally a discussion with peoples differeing views should follow.

For what its worth I am no forecaster, but the TV, Radio and media are CURRENTLY forecasting a mild spell at the end of this weeek and into next. Personally, I think Saturday Monday and Tuesday are going to be a bit chilly with Sunday staying "warm" with temps above 6C. Scotland and north/eastern England may even see some snow or wintery showers.

There you go. I've made a fool of myself - anyone else care to comment ???

METO have just updated their 120hr+ chart. Look at where the winds are coming from for Saturday. Just need that 528 thickness band to drop down over the UK a bit more and we are in

Fingers crossed, things are looking good. Look at that 528 band nudging northern Scotland, a nice high building over Greenland should squeeze those notherlies down a treat.

Things may be short-lived with this one as the Atlantic high pushes up over the UK on Sunday.

Friday and into Saturday still has a good possibility of bringing in wintry showers and snow to the north and east fringes of the UK though

BBC were showing snow on their charts for Friday and Saturday on the fringes of the eastern coast and northern Scotland. Blooming cold for the rest of us, but bright and clear.

Currently snowing in Norfolk and around Scarborough. Aberdeen has seen some significant falls too.
