Question Advisory Warning for 26th August 2008

I don't know if any of you have seen the VERY early advisory for Heavy Rain for Tuesday 26th August 2008.

For the Met Office to issue SUCH and early advisory is somewhat out of character.

The advisory was issed at 12:11 today... Heavy Rain ... Northern Ireland Strathclyde Central, Tayside & Fife SW Scotland, Lothian & Borders
What are your thoughts behind this very early advisory...... is TS Fay coming our way ....... ?

If you have any ideas then please feel free to discuss them here.

Cheers
Kate

Re: Advisory Warning for 26th August 2008

I believe they are concerned about the problems in Northern Ireland and southern Scotland at the moment with already saturated ground and still one or two places flooded. Even a little bit of rain might cause further flooding problems.
I've had a look at the synoptics it seems the LOW will be well towards the northwest of the UK but strong winds may be a problem with tight isobars. It seems to be secondary lows developing from the main one as we go into next week, but that could change...
