storm Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 22nd Aug 2008

Is it me or is this a repeat of last Saturday? Overnight, reports of thundery activity in Cork and southern Ireland, sferics show it well on UKASF: UKASF - UK Amateur Storm Forecasts. The rain itself may still be thundery in a few locations around SW England, W Wales, N Ireland and SW Scotland. The 'potential' eases off later this afternoon, but some heavy and possibly thundery showers are likely in the Midlands of Ireland. The rain, mainly dynamic by evening, clears eastwards overnight.

For tomorrow the chance for thunder is quite low across most of the UK.

Monday it is restricted at the moment to eastern Ireland and perhaps west Wales.

I am away from 8am Monday to 6pm Thursday so shall not be able to post updates like last week. However, ESTOFEX should give you some idea

Discuss away...

There's something beginning to develop over northern France.
It may not come to anything but may clip the far south east of Kent.

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

We have just had a heavy rain storm here.
Just a breif one, only lasted 10 minutes or so.
Looking at statistics and rest that's about all for tonight. Best chance of storms here will be Tuesday onwards.....

No Dollsworth, it lost most of it's intensity by the time it got there.
Was just a rain shower.

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

So how's things looking for the rest of this week?
There's not been much activity on this thread today, so i'm guessing it's going to be a storm free day tomorrow (I haven't looked at any forecasts today!)
Dollsworth is off until Thursday so i'm missing her forecasts already! LOL

I really should change my username

I'm uncertain but i thought i heard a distant rumble at 9.50pm. Nothing on the radars or lightning maps suggest that though, so probs just a plane above the clouds...
