Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

Their is definetly a line, that seems to be stomping south, but is working a bit like an old fashioned flash, Discharges then has to Recharge, Discharge and Recharge and so on. Getting close to me now, seems to be within 15 miles, should be able to hear thunder rumbling soon!! (Time 14:41) VSC

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

It has been completly dry here all day so far.
All action has been just a few miles north of here looking at past met-office rainfall radar pictures.
Clouds are starting to bubble up a lot here now, so hoping for something soon..

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

It looks like there could be a line of showers beginning to develop right overhead now.
There is a cloud above which is growing in size, getting darker and spreading outwards

Yeah it has.
All that cloud did overhead was a few large spots of rain before it moved away and broke up.

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

I'm unsure but i thought i saw a flash of sheet lightning towards Loughborough way around 5pm on Tuesday.
Otherwise storm-free on my vacation around the Midlands, an awful lot of heavy showers on Tuesday, a few yesterday and two torrential showers in south Brum around 2pm and on the M40 close to Banbury around 3pm this afternoon.
