The storm in ceedeeh01's post in the Northeast of England must be the one I'm hearing.

I would'nt rely on stormvue atm, I think Grant took it down. Try downloading lightning viewer from Blitzoturng

Tremendously heavy rain. Bouncing off the roofs. Large puddles. I hope there's not much more.

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

There's only a small chance of thundery activity tomorrow.
The greatest risks are in the SW of england where a front is moving in bringing showery rain and in central Scotland where they are still being affected by the low that is still hanging around from the weekend.

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

About an hour's worth of general rumbling and a few flashes. Nothing special even though passed imediately overhead. Very low cloud and steady/heavy rain al day. Seems to have passed now

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

Well i only heard one rumble of thunder today around 6:20pm and it was miles away (in Wales i guess).
I was expecting very heavy rain or showers today, but i only experianced relativley cloudy skies with a few showers. There was a couple of heavy(ish) ones, but as one or two forecasters say "nothing to write home about!"
The forecast for tomorrow seems to be a bit more promising for thunder, especially in eastern parts.

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 16th - 23rd Aug 2008

Hi, as you know, due to firewall issues I no longer join in as I have only limited access to threads/topics and don't want to annoy Mods by posting in the wrong place. However, can someone tell me which bits of this [[Wetterstation Groß-Rohrheim]] Sorry, cannot even copy a link!! I need to download? (as earlier thread by Ceedeeh01) its all in foreign!! or is their a button to get an English version? I would like to try it as Ceedeeh01 says iits more reliable than stormview etc. By the way, HEART FM weather forcasters are predicting heavy thunderstorms for the EAST MIDLANDS this afternoon and evening??? Cannot find any info to indicate this? Anybody know about these storms heading my way?? Cheers Virtual Stormchaser.
