Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 2nd - 9th Aug 2008

Yep conditions seem favorable in the Midlands today although its 15:20 and I would like to be seeing some development before its gets a little late.

Southeast corner could have a few overnight thunderstorms, hit and miss though as they are likely only to clip the far east of Kent.

I have noticed a few strikes to the west over the last hour or so. Looking at the cape, lcl, lifted and Deep Layer Shear maps things are still looking promising, however the maps haven't been updated since last night which is annoying.

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 2nd - 9th Aug 2008

Very little activity currently which isnt very good bit id definately watch that front out west, may electrify as it hits the more humid air over here. Also watch for a possible storm in the SE But as ever there is a chance it will hit or not.

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 2nd - 9th Aug 2008

had a couple of torrential down pours here earlier giving 30 mm according to my gauges - very humid - but no ts ( yet ?? ) - looks like moving off to wales now - with (poss ) more heavy showers moving up from bay of biscay direction - ??? - though if they stay on same track - suspect IOW area more likely to get them ??

Re: Thunderstorm Discussion 2nd - 9th Aug 2008

Evening, that nest of storms just entering the channel, what are the chances of them migrating as far north as Leicester? They always seem to run out of puff when they hit the sea, do you all think these will stall before hitting the mainland?

Just spent 5 mins outside, still humid, about in deep dusk now (21.18) We have had the odd spot of rain but not enough to even constitute a shower! the air is very still...awaiting with baited breath,

Regards

Virtual Stormchaser.
