| Re: Natwest Raid: £2 million stolen from Tamworth depot Nearly £2m in cash has been stolen in a raid at a NatWest bank processing centre in Staffordshire. A gang of up to five men raided the depot at the Amington industrial estate in Tamworth on Wednesday night. The intruders, who wore masks or crash helmets and high-visibility jackets, drove a skip lorry through the security fence and wall of the building. Staff feared violence but no weapons were used in the raid and no-one was injured, said Staffordshire Police. Det Insp Bob Titley, of Staffordshire Police, said the raid was over very quickly but it had been a terrifying experience for staff. ![]() "Staff were working on the premises at the time. The area they were working on was attacked. "Fortunately the outcome of this is that no violence or weapons were used. No-one... was injured. But of course you can imagine they were extremely traumatised and terrified from this incident." Forensic teams have sealed off the area around the centre in Sandy Way and are searching for clues. The gang are believed to have used a motorcycle and a car to escape following the raid, shortly after 2200 BST. They are believed to have driven along Pennine Way towards the A5 and the M42. | Re: Natwest Raid: £2 million stolen from Tamworth depot Officers have returned to the scene of a raid where £2m was stolen from a cash processing centre a week ago. A gang drove a skip lorry into the NatWest cash processing centre in an industrial estate in Tamworth, Staffordshire, on 18 October. Officers spoke to more than 50 motorists and pedestrians on Wednesday in their quest for information. Police want to know if a motorbike seen leaving almost 30 minutes after the robbery belonged to the offenders. BBC NEWS | England | Staffordshire | More checks over £2m depot raid
