I am looking at getting a second webcam for my website and am wondering whether to get another logitech Quickcam Pro 5000.

Just wondering what webcams other people use and if possible can they send a link to it running.

DO NOT buy an Orite IP Cam !..... not much in the way of support, Orite site no longer available and hardly any software. Also the one I have only works on Internet Explorer. Its taken me MONTHS to find an application that will run it and provide a java display for it so it can be used on Mozilla

I'm using the Orite one and has been nothing but a pain. I bought a cheap tesco usb cam too and had NO problems with it at all.

Buying more expensive isn't always the better choice. Buy cheap and if it stops working, just buy a new one..... start off at around £9 from tesco, asda and a few other supermarkets.

I have both running on my website... the view over the valley is the IP cam and the one looking skyward with trees is the el cheapo Tesco Technika Cam.

It also depends what you want to use the webcam for...... don't think MWF will accept private webcams if selling yerself !!!

Do you want a cam that will rotate position or just a static. If static I'd go for the cheaper option but that is personal choice.

Well my logitech pro is still happy to sit on the window cill exposed to all the elements, to date (15 months .. ish) no problems at all. I if was to buy another it would be the same model or an equivalent model. Higher resolution cams will increase the page load time with a hefty image remember - even if resized

Scot - Would like a Pan and Tilt cam but the are very expensive, unless you know any different?

Umm, looks a good cam, cannot see any reason why it would not work as a webcam.

Not what you are looking for / need, but if you talk nicely to SLOweather he has IP cams one of which is remote (web) pan / tilt and one hell of a zoom ! - he might let you take a peek.
