Anyone done a streaming webcam before? If so I would love some pointers in setting it up.

HOW TO SET UP CAM STREAMING IN IMAGE SALSA

Step 1

In Image Salsa, select the canvas you wish to host.
Right click it and select the â€œWeb Serverâ€ tab.
In the field â€œWeb Server File Nameâ€ give it a name e.g. now.jpg
Set the â€œRefresh Intervalâ€ drop down to â€œEach Requestâ€.
Set the â€œJPEG Qualityâ€ to something low e.g. 40% to reduce traffic.
Tick the â€œServe Canvas on Web Serverâ€ box.
Set the schedule as necessary.
Click â€œSave Canvasâ€ then â€œOKâ€

Step 2

In Image Salsa, click the â€œInternetâ€ option then select â€œWeb Server Setupâ€
Tick the â€œEnable Internal Web Serverâ€ box
Un-tick the â€œEnable Non-Canvas Web Serverâ€
Web Server File Directory should be â€œC:\Program Files\ImageSalsa\webâ€ or wherever you installed it.
Set the Web (HTTP) Server Port to something e.g. 8081
Click OK

Step 3

Set up your router and firewalls to enable the port and to be forwarded to the PC with Image Salsa on it.

Step 4

Test by using:

http://<ip address>:<port>/<Web Server File Name>

where
<ip address> is the external IP address of your router/ADSL modem (not the PC!)
<port> is the â€œWeb (HTTP) Server Portâ€
<Web Server File Name> is the name you gave the jpg in the Canvas

You should see the image. Refresh the page and it will update.

Step 5

Download the CamSteam app from here: http://www.meteorologica.co.uk/downloads/CamStream.zip

Modify the html as you need and copy both files to your host

TEST!

NB: If your External IP address changes (ie you don't have a static IP) then this will need changing when the IP changes.
