18th & 19th November 2006. Ok i may be a little early. This is going to be the 2006 astro showdown! Its looking good on having as many as 80+ per hour.

After seeing the ISS the other week the kids have developed an interest in astronomy.

Lets hope we get to see the "Leonids" !

Peak rate for the Leonids is 150 meteors per hour at 04:45 on the 19th November 2006

Should be a good show if its clear

Well having set the alarm for 4am and stood outside freezing for 40 mins....

We never seen one star!

We have very bad light pollution here, but you would have thought we would have seen at least ONE! My credibility with the kids was saved by a fox that came close to investigate (probably the one who has our bin bags!)

Oh well, perhaps another time
