Post keep an eye on your pets

hi all - well Saturday night was a bit fraught - had to rush my moggy ( demina ) to the vets with of all things suspected heat stroke !! - fortunately she seems to be OK and the vet says for an older cat she is not in bad nick - so she now has the coolest room in the house and the portable air conditioning unit at her disposal - but the message is clear - keep an eye on your pets during this hot weather - make sure they have somewhere cool to go - and provide plenty of water for them

as i don't drive /have a car - getting anywhere in an emergency is a problem - but a group called "pets to vets " which volunteers run and provide escort and transport to the local pets hospital came to the rescue - and whilst they ask for a donation - it is well worth it

Plymouth pets to vets can be contacted on 01752 774517 and are available 24/7 /365

- there may be a similar scheme in your area - ask your local vet

the stinger is of course the vets fee - 29.95p for the consultation + 47 .47p for the "out of hours " supplement - like when do pets fall ill strictly during "office hours " ?? ( an expensive MOT - MOGGY OK TEST ) .lol

and please don't say "pet insurance " as most firms don't want to know about older animals - which is exactly when most pets need treatment

luckily for the nice lady who was also there who's cat had taken a flying leap out of a 4th floor window - she had some - the cat suffered some injuries - but apparently will be OK - another thing to think of - if you have your windows open

ho hum - well its gonna be a warm one again today - take care all

Brett .
