Anyone used HW Publisher with any sucsess, when i was waiting for my ws3200 to arrive i uploaded a file with help from betle and everything was ok, but now i have live data it just reports "running" for what seems like ever.

I use the ftp address, my user name and password which is supposed to take me to my webspace, weird cos it worked before

Did you really send it to your webspace when trying earlier, or did you press 'Test', which ignores all settings and uses their server to show you it works.

In Status, you may see Running, Waiting, Queued, Finished.

Running should have a count - UP time with it, it is trying to or has connected and trying to send.

If it works 'Last Status' says Success, 'Status' goes to Waiting, until next Running time.

the last time i tried after running for ages it came back with an error, could not connect to port 501, but the default port is 21, perhaps its my ISP being fussy.

what isp do you use?

HW Publisher is in the allowed list on my firewall settings, i have tried the demo of VWS and that program uploads no problem, my ISP is Toucan

So didn't you keep the settings that worked ?

You should have something like:



The settings should have been 'Apply'(ied) before you 'Activate' the images you wish to send.

One other thing, although it shouldn't make any difference to file transfer, is to ensure that the 'FileName' extension is the same as the format set in the 'Properties' panel (.jpg / .png)

One other thought, are you running HWP the same time as VWS, ie. is there a conflict with them both trying to ftp at the same time ?

I checked the windows firewall and publisher was on its allowed list, so i thought everthing should be fine. I turned off my routers firewall and tried the program again without any luck.
I downloaded all the weather program demo's i could find and they all worked fine, so i couldnt work out what was going on.
Today i turned off the windows firewall and publisher works just fine , so even though it was on its allowed list the firewall was telling porkies.
