| Every month I'll produce a piece of music that has been inspired by Mother Nature, and all of the wonderful changes that she has thrown at us. ![]() Each piece will be between 10 and 20 minutes long, and I would like members of the forum to give me descriptions of every month's weather and how it has effected them emotionally, then I'll use the collective thoughts to work on the movements of the overall symphony. I've started with January, and each movement will be named by every month of this year. Please listen to January, you can download it and burn it to a CD and listen to it on your stereo etc., all tracks will be be totally free, and I'm looking forward to everyone's ideas so that this will become a community project. January; 01 January.mp3 - DivShare PS Admin/mods please sticky this thread, I think it'll be a great and inspiring project!!

| Re: Poyk's music for a year I've wanted a good excuse to get stuck into a classical project, and there's no better inspiration than the changing of the weather and the seasons. Looking forward to February!

| Re: Poyk's music for a year It's only half way through the month, but I've been inspired enough to produce this month's piece of music already. Put on this classical piece of music in the background, and look out of the window and enjoy. ![]() I've caught the fast build up to an exciting start to the month in a cheeky and powerful way, and you can sense my optimism for the coming fortnight. Enjoy, and I look forward to composing the music for March. http://www.divshare.com/download/6558299-7cf

| Re: Poyk's music for a year January. The Very Gradual Lengthening of the Day as the Solstice is left behind. The Early Flowers come out (Snowdrops, Crocuses). Catkins Form. This Year it was Colder, with Frosts, so these appeared only at the End of the Month. Usually there is Little Energy in the Atmosphere for Dramatic Weather. But This Year we had some Fronts which brought Snow and Breeze, in the First Half of the month. Pleasant (if cool) Sunny Periods on some days. ........ Any more Standard January Things to add anyone? ........ Poyks Piece caught the general Winterish Doldrums, and Gradually Improving Conditions of the month. At 5min (out of 15): The birds were singing and the plants trying to shoot when they got caught by ominous weather. Then stasis. For the first signs of spring we had to wait until 10.5 mins. At 12 min the spring finally got under wey. ........ Last edited by Philip Bedford; 15-Feb-2009 at 16:06. |

| Re: Poyk's music for a year Awesome synopsis Philip! That's what I want people to get from this music, the feel of the changing weather and the emotional side of what the weather means to us all; slice it any way you wish, we are the lucky ones who gain huge emotional boosts from what the boring proles miss out on.

| Re: Poyk's music for a year P, we seem to have got each other sussed. Would anyone else like to take part? There is no right answer to be given. Just say how the music affects you. Poyks has indicated that he wont be offended by what you say. The piece was smoothly and professionally composed, so he is obviously not a nervious amateur, worried about what you might think of his baby. .. |
