Loire valley Thunderstorms

Hi,

Was anybody tracking the two thunderstorms moving north across France yesterday ?, I was, They seemed to be moving at an astonishing rate and at one point i noted CAPE up to 900, they hovverd over the channel islands for a while then moved off across the channel where one settled over the solent with strikes up to 155 at one point and a lot of activity over the Irish sea, I was poised with all my camcorders charged and fresh batteries in my olympus and was disgusted when it all petered out without a single flash of lightning near me....oh well.

Re: Loire valley Thunderstorms

There will always be another day. Did you use the forum software to track the storm or do you have your own equipment ?
Anyway better luck next time.

Re: Loire valley Thunderstorms

Hi DoctorD,

Yeah youre right, its spring so i will get another chance.

I used my own stuff, Ive got Netweather extra radar, Lightning Tracker and Boltek storm tracker, I took out a subscription to Net weather Radar, but what i wouldent give to get my sticky little fingers on a D.O.W, along with some of the kit that the stormchasers have.

*Sighs wistfully* Maybe one day.........perhaps........if I win the lottery
