Yellow Warning Weather Station Finder site query/problem

I'm probably being thick, but I can't see how to register a vote...

I've tried registering, but that seems to assume that you are registering a site and clicking on the 'Vote for me' links on any of the sites just takes me to the display of the top 10 sites.

So, can someone give me an idiots guide to how to register a vote for a particular site please?

Thanks.

Re: Weather Station Finder site query/problem

If you wish to vote for a particular site. Goto that website and click on the vote button, which looks like this

You should then be taken to a vote gateway page like this

If you do not get to this page, then the site with the button has either

a) not used the correct code
b) placed the code with a frame
c) has a cloacked domain forward (can't be used due to cheat protection, which prevents vote being registered)

In either of the cases above, you will need to advise the webmaster of the weather station concerned.

Yes, I see that page and I click on the green button but that takes me to the top 10 list. Does that mean I've voted? I was expecting to be given some sort of option to register my preference, as in, say 1 to 5 to give better sites more of a score than others...

Maybe I missunderstood the discussion about upping and downing a sites score?

Re: Weather Station Finder site query/problem

Thats fine, your vote has been registered. Votes from 1 person for a particular site will only register once within 24 hours. Every monday the votes are reset.

You can rate and review a site, it has no affect on the sites (or others) performance though. Find the site you are looking for by searching through WSF, and click on the stats then scroll down to the bit circled in red

Detailed logging can tell me the IP address of who voted, who reviewed and who rated and what score they gave. If there are any patterns, we can prevent access or remove the site concerned.

If a button is placed on multiple domains the votes will not register.

Re: Weather Station Finder site query/problem

Ah, I see how it works now. I must admit to having expected some form of possitive feedback that my vote had been cast, but if the green button is 'it' then I guess that means I voted.

I was beginning to wonder if I needed to use IE rather than Firefox, as I have found that some of these sorts of sites don't seem to work properly with anything other than IE at times.

Re: Weather Station Finder site query/problem

I do see what you mean. Its a good suggestion, I will pass that on. You should find it works correctly with both browsers.
