Live lightning data

I still can't access the live lightning data through IE7 or Firefox. There is just an image placeholder, and when I go to "show image" I get this error:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /lightning/screenshot.png on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.37 Server at Tamworth Weather Station Port 80

Any ideas?

Edit: It works in IE6 on the laptop (which doesn't have FF).

Re: Live lightning data

Without looking at it I'm stuck. The fact it works on your other PC, proves connection etc.

Re: Live lightning data

Thanks TW - it's very odd. Have just uninstalled/reinstalled Java but it makes no difference. I'll just have to live without it .

Java runs the top image, the second image is just a graphic file and has nothing to do with java. Do you have norton security installed or an advertising blocker - it may think its an advert due to the remote link to TWS

Re: Live lightning data

Enabling pop ups in Firefox makes no difference (midlandsweather was an allowed site anyway) and Norton's popup blocker is already disabled. Unless anyone has any other ideas I'll just have to live without it I think.

Re: Live lightning data

Its not a pop up blocker thats stopping it.

Click on Start
Select Control Panel
Click on Network and Internet Connections
Click on Internet Options
Select Advanced
Scroll down and click on Java Enabled so that a tick is in the box.

You might have to re-start your comp after.

So you have got norton - keep looking there will be something there! I removed mine, but I'm sure there is an advert thing - not for popups, but to not show them on pages you are actually viewing.

Put tws and mwf into all your exception lists

I seem to remember you saying you could see the image here Tamworth Weather Station - Live Lightning Data Maps if that is the case, then its defo norton

Re: Live lightning data

Thanks both - tried your idea TG, but still no dice. I'll have a play around with Norton (which I hate but it's free with my ISP and I'm a tightwad) and see what happens. Incidentally, I can see the data using the link you posted TW - I'll use that to see the lightning data until I can resolve it.
