This is a Vbulletin based forum. If you belong to other, SMF based forums, you may have seen "karma". Karma is like the "thanks" here with a couple of important differences.

"Thanks" is only positive, and not anonymous. It's very civilized.

"Karma", OTOH, is anonymous, and is both positive and negative. On every forum of which I've been a member, which had Karma enabled, there seems to be one unknown member whose life's goal is to keep everyone's karma even. Eventually, it causes so much consternation than the forum admins disable it.

I'd like to find a "Thanks" style plugin for SMF forums. If anyone could point me to one, I'd really appreciate it.

Karma sound like the "reputation" on vb - we haev the negative turned off though. Not sure about a thanks mod for SMF but I'll take a look.
