Thankfully the eclipse was at a reasonable time of night unlike the eclipse that is about to happen over night tonight at around 3 am 21st February 2008.

You need a nice clear night to see the eclipse to its full effect so be prepared to get cold.

The next installment of the yearly calender.

2nd January 1977 - A 50kg lump of ice crashed through a roof in Ponders End, Middlesex. It was possibly a lump of aircraft icing; no one knows.

3rd January 1978 - 14 tornadoes crossed rural parts of eastern England. In one tornado 136 geese were sucked up and thrown down dead.

5th January 1928 - A storm surge and snow thaw caused a sea flood in the Thames, people were drowned in their homes.
