Over the last two days, I have upgraded the website and moved it over fully to the domain
www.weatherstationfinder.com - previously it was attached to my own weather station, but now we have over 400 members it has become a bit big and needs its own space.
As a result the code has changed slighly and you will need to login and get the new code for your website.
We will now also start to insist that the button code is added to your websites. As a very active directory service, we promote your website, so it is only fair that you promote ours. Sites without the new Weather Station Finder code on their pages will be removed from the listings after a period of inactivity.
You will also notice a change to the way your site is listed. Previously, sites were ranked by the number of unique hits they received. However, this method was open to many different forms of cheating, which proved impossible to keep track of. The script developers are not able to put working restrictions in place to prevent the cheating and complaints from legitimate users have risen. As a result, we have taken the decision to change things slightly.
The new button code will act as a vote button and your website will be ranked by the number of unique votes obtained within a week. The more prominently your button is placed on your website, the more votes you will likely get! Also, using this method, cheating is easier to detect and offenders will have their listings removed. This change will also give the smaller sites more opportunity to reach top 10 listings.
Let me thank you all for your continued support. Weather Station Finder continues to grow by the week. I hope that you will appreciate the need for the changes and trust that you will be happy to make the required changes to your website pages.
