look at this Met Office rainfall radar picture for 9pm Saturday August 16th 2008 and see how the rain is concentrated on the land and not over the Bristol channel.
I live very close to the sharp bend on the River Severn and quite often see storms pass either side of me, but this rainfall radar pic
really shows what i mean.
Anyone got ideas on this?
