Re: Why do Lightning Maps differ so much

Hello Brett
I do not listen somewhere about receiver VHF for the lightning strikes, because the strikes it give signal at VLF for long distances usually ,but it is interesting for local detection if there is ,your thought finds me positive about local detection strikes at VHF ,because at local strikes the detector at VLF it have some problems near about <200 km because the signal at VLF is very sensitivity ,of caurse we decrease the gain when we have local strikes, but there is yet a small problem .VHF receiver it is not sensitivity for long distance but at local detection it can to be better from VLF .Dopler and microwaves is another think ,is clear radar system with transmiter and receiver together for this it work at UHF.Very interesting this about Dopler system with antenna sat ,i will wait the winter
If you have any news about this system please post it .
