Weather News: Very warm or even Hot in Central and Southern Areas with a risk of Thunderstorms too in the afternoon and evening and perhaps into the night period.

Saturday 10th May 2008:
NEW:
England & Wales: Today will be a fantastic day for many today especially in the Midlands and the South with highs of upto 27c! This morning is likely to start quite cloudy for many but the strong May Sunshine should soon get to work and thin the cloud to leave just patchy cloud for some later on. Last night we saw quite alot of the West Midlands and Avon & Somerset hit by Thunderstorms. These very quickly developed in the Evening with alot of Cape and some quite Low Lifted Index. Today a similar situation develops today but also the North of England may see their turn today too. According to the latest Charts here is a couple of places with expected Cape this evening: Birmingham: Upto 1500j/kg Carlisle 900j/kg. This dosnt neccesaryly mean Thunderstorms will occur here but these are quite high values and with the combination of the days heat the Midlands and the North of England do look to see the best of any Storms today. The risk of Thunderstorms also edges into East Wales like Yesterday. A Level 3 or even Level 4 Watch may be issued later today. Winds will be Light from Variable directions across England and Wales. The Wind in the Midlands may be Very Light or even Nothing at times which may aid in the very slow moving of any Showers or Storms later. Max temps 27c (81f).

Scotland & Ireland (Inc N Ireland): Today will be a day of sunshine and showers in which some could be quite Heavy and Thundery especially in Southern Scotland. In Northern Ireland today i expect it to be mostly cloudy with some rain, some perhaps Heavy. It should feel warm in most of Scotland though not very warm like in England or Wales. In Ireland and Northern Ireland it may feel a bit cool under the cloud and rain. Winds will be Light from variable directions which again will aid in the slow moving of showers. Max temp 22c in Southern Scotland.

NEW:Weather Risks:
