Forecast Sunday 9th December 2007 (100TH FORECAST!) Celebrating the 100th Forecast by SW! Serving Forecasts for the UK since 23rd August 2007! UK Weather Forecast for Sunday 9th December 2007 Map as of 13:00 Blue Area: Again, today will be another Mess of a day weatherwise but on a more serious note than on Saturday. Today, Severe Gales, Heavy Rain, Squalls, Hail, Thunder, Lightning, Tornadoes and some Mountain Snow could possibly happen today! The main concern of todays weather will be in South West England and Southern England and possibly South Wales and parts of Southern England. Here Severe Gales and Heavy Rain will be the main focus of the weather here but a risk of a Tornado or a Thunderstorm isnt ruled out too although the risk for those will be relatively low Wind gusts may be in excess of 90mph if your in a really exposed part of the area. These gusts could be damaging to tress and houses and can even cause a risk to life. IT IS VITAL TO TAKE CARE AND DO NOT TRAVEL UNLESS NECESSARY. The next focus of the Weather will be in the Midlands and Wales where Heavy Rain or Heavy Showers, Squally Winds, Chance of a Thunderstorm, Chance of a Tornado and Squall lines could happen today though mostly the main focus will be the Heavy Rain or Heavy Showers and Squally Winds. Elsewhere it will be a breezy or possibly windy day at times with a risk of Showers or longer spells of Rain which may be heavy at times. Over the Mountains of the Pennines, Snowdonia, Grampians and the Highlands, precipitation may fall as Sleet or Snow. At times especially in Northern England and Northern Ireland there may be some Sunny spells at times but a risk of some Showers or rain will always be a possibility. Wherever you are it will feel quite cold especially if your in the Strong Winds. Where it rains alot there will also be a risk of localised flooding. There is also a risk that after all the rain lately that some Rivers may burst their banks in places to cause some more serious Flooding. Currently, Many Flood Watches and Warnings have been Issued by the Environment Agency so please check the Site for updates (Link Below). Finally, there is a risk of a Storm Surge in the South West later on in the day as Very Strong Winds may collide with the High Tide. If you live near the coast it is Strongly advised to Check the Environment Agency, Watch the Latest News, Listen to Local Radio to check on current Conditions. CURRENT CONDITIONS ARE CHANGING AL THE TIME SO PLEASE CHECK THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY AND WARNING SITES TO KEEP UP TO DATE WITH WHAT IS HAPPENING AS SOME OF THESE THINGS I.E THE STROM SURGE MAY HAPPEN OR MAY NOT HAPPEN. Please take care if your affected by the Severe Weather. Winds will be Light to Severe Gales from the the West Or South West towards the South of the Country and from the North West, North or the North East in the North of the Country.
